Dungeon Deception is a multiplayer mobile game available on both iOS and Android.
If you love multiplayer deduction games like Among Us or Secret Hitler, and wish they were more interesting, then this is the game for you! We’ve combined the best aspects of social deduction games and dungeon crawlers to create Dungeon Deception. In this world, you and your friends are divided into runners and betrayers exploring a procedurally generated, overgrown sky dungeon while trying to collect Energy by killing enemies. You use this collected Energy to power the five Generators, and whichever side — runners or betrayers — powers the majority of the Generators escapes the dungeon.
For this particular project, I acted as design lead — I was in charge of unifying our design scheme, organizing meetings within our design team, and ensuring that our designs and visions were aligning with what the programmers were implementing on their end. I helped guide our team in crucial design decisions, such as what kind of world this game would take place in (eco-brutalist) and where we would pull inspiration for character and environment art, animation styles, and UI details. In addition, I was in charge of designing the majority of the HUD elements: the action buttons, player info overlay, and the settings.

we had plans to include a boss fight when a terminal is corrupted, which is what this fella would have been.

these are the terminals, with the blue one being activated and the red one being corrupted by Betrayers.

Unearther is a PC game available for download on Mac and Windows.
Unearther is a stealth platformer designed to tell a gripping story about X, a Gatherer. Gatherers are forest beings with supernaturally strong hearing abilities that dwell in secrecy; however, X is pulled out of their quiet life when their mentor and mother figure, Z, disappears without a trace. You must guide X through the world of Solaris and discover just what happened to Z, and along the way, you’ll learn about the city’s dark secrets. Luckily, X is equipped with their Gatherer abilities, which allow them to eavesdrop in on secret conversations and sneak by guards without getting caught.
For this particular project, I was a designer. I was in charge of creating all of the player character (X) art and animations, as well as designing some of the HUD elements, such as the shard collector and the gauges that appear when X uses their Gatherer abilities. In addition, I worked intimately with a tool called Tiled, which we used to design all of our levels; once a level was designed, it would be exported as a JSON file to be implemented. (I essentially became a Tiled SME!) At the end of the project, I also put together a quick game trailer using Adobe Premiere Pro, which is available at this link on YouTube, and is also embedded right below!
animation filmstrips i drew of our beloved player character, X (run, sneak, crouch, cling)
these are all pages from the game manual we designers created as part of the final presentation. they do a great job of explaining the premise and controls of the game, if i do say so myself!
